English-Australian on paper and brought up in southern Spain, I’m a bilingual Spain-based travel journalist, and have been wandering the globe since my first round-the-world trip as a one-year-old. Having grown up in a whitewashed Andalucian mountain village (picking up a lifelong malagueño accent and love for sunny beachy places), I’m a Spain specialist, and also write extensively about India, Thailand, Greece, the UK, Australia, Canada and beyond, on topics from vegetarianism and literature to women travellers and sustainable tourism.
I have lived in Andalucía, Melbourne, Barcelona, London and Toronto, and am a travel writer for Lonely Planet, The Telegraph, The Times, Condé Nast Traveller, the Guardian, The Independent, British Airways High Life, i News, GeoPlaneta, National Geographic Traveller, Ink and other digital and print media. I also work as an editor (previously as a sub-editor for Lonely Planet magazine) and copywriter, am a Spain expert and hotel reviewer for The Telegraph, and have contributed to around 50 Lonely Planet travel titles, including several Spanish-language guidebooks.
